Dr. Afzal V. Purath has more than 15 years of experience in ENT. He earned his Master's degree from Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, India, and served for two years as consultant at Jain ENT Hospital, Jaipur, one of the largest ENT hospitals in India. Prior to joining Zulekha Hospital, he worked at various hospitals in Kannur, Kerala, including KIMST Hospital and AKG Memorial Co-operative Hospital. Special interests include comprehensive ear care for adults and children (advanced surgeries for chronic ear infections and hearing loss, painless ear wax removal, management of childhood hearing loss and recurrent ear infections, cryotherapy for persistent ear itching, and sterile painless ear piercing); advanced sinus and nasal procedures including Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and treatment of nasal polyps and sinus headache; snoring and sleep apnoea management (sleep endoscopy-guided evaluation, sleep study, CPAP therapy, and minimally invasive surgeries); voice and throat disorders (endoscopic vocal cord surgeries); thyroid disorder evaluation and management; and allergy diagnosis and personalised immunotherapy for allergic rhinitis.
