Dr. Jisha Ismail is a highly experienced Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist with over 14 years of dedicated practice in women's health care. She has a distinguished background as a former Professor at Government Medical College in Kerala, India, where she excelled in both clinical and academic settings. Dr. Ismail is renowned for her expertise in managing high-risk obstetrics and gynaecology cases, with a particular focus on natural vaginal delivery and complex surgical interventions. Her extensive experience includes over 9,000 vaginal deliveries, 6,000 Caesarean sections, and over 5,000 gynaecological surgeries. She is a staunch advocate for women's rights in childbirth and is proficient in handling complicated vaginal deliveries, including forceps and vacuum-assisted deliveries, breech births, and caesarean sections. Dr. Ismail has made significant contributions to the field through numerous publications in esteemed national and international journals and has presented at various state and national conferences. She completed her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Government Medical College, Thrissur, Kerala, served as a Senior Resident and later as a Consultant Gynaecologist at St. Joseph's Hospital, Choondal, and the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission Hospital, before rejoining Government Medical College, Thrissur as an Assistant Professor, progressing to Associate Professor and then Professor. She holds a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, passed MRCOG Part 1, and attended advanced endoscopy training organised by FOGSI. Special interests: high-risk obstetrics, instrumental deliveries (vacuum and forceps), assisted breech deliveries and VBAC, simple and complex caesarean sections, abdominal and vaginal gynaecological surgeries, staging laparotomy, complicated hysterectomies and myomectomies, ovarian cystectomy, vaginal hysterectomy and vaginal wall defect repair, colposcopy and HPV screening, hysteroscopy, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, adolescent gynaecology, and peri-menopausal and menopausal disorders.
